Winter wonderland

I had my first White Christmas ever this year. It's true that in all the years I lived in snow prone regions of the country, it never snowed on Christmas eve. But it happened in Galveston County, Texas on December 24th, 2004. Who'd a thunk it? We never get snow here!

Actually, we've had flurries and the like, but never accumulation.

It started up around 6pm or so, with snow flurries. I thought that would be the extent of it. K and I found ourselves running to the store for some last minute items, at that time and it started to snow in earnest by 6:30pm. By the time we got back home, the roof of our garage was white, and there was a little snow on the lawn, but that was it. I thought that would be the extent of our snow.

However, I was wrong. The next morning, this is what we had:

It was about 2-3 inches! Quite a treat for Christmas day! We decided to go outside for a while in the afternoon and made snowmen.

We probably won't be able to do that again for many years, unless of course Global Warming cools us down...Right.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
